Deshabillé (pronounced dez-ha-bee-ay) local purveyors of luxury lounge and sleepwear have developed a range of beautiful yet practical garments to relax in at home and beyond...should a quick trip to the corner store for milk arise.
Created by local designer Roslyn Bellerby, Deshabillé offers equal doses of quality, fashion and comfort for both men and women, that's perfect for our increasingly busy yet carefree lives.
“For years I could see that there was a huge gap in the market for sleepwear and leisurewear. We needed something that was a bit younger, more fashion-forward, higher quality, yet still well priced,” Roslyn said.
Deshabillé’s emphasis is on quality, starting with fabrics that feel beautiful against the skin, while allowing it to breathe and be comfortable. Each garment is intricately finished with gold metal charms and the hallmark Deshabillé embroidered logo.

Much attention has been paid to Deshabillé prints too, which became important to Roslyn during her time as a designer at Mambo. Some of the prints in the range have been specifically developed with artists and they are all an original, refreshing change from traditional (often kitsch) sleepwear prints.
“I loved being able to translate art onto garments and thought it would be great to see some of the amazing art that is available printed onto sleepwear,” she said.
Fresh and feminine, using beautiful soft natural fabrications and gorgeous trims, Deshabillé’s Spring/Summer range combines rich, luxurious elements with fun, vibrant colours.
The women’s range includes classic basics – a fabulous fitting tank with built-in bra shelf and a sexy, fitted tracksuit that you can be seen in outside the house! These essentials will continue from season to season and can be worn back with other pieces in the range, and with future Deshabille lines.
And for the men – you won’t see any puppy dogs or polka dots in Deshabillé’s simple, masculine range. Its earthy, tropical vibe - with classic stripes, bold graphic prints – all in fresh summer colours, can be teamed back with a vintage look fitted tee or sexy rib tank.
“I wanted to move away from traditional sleepwear shapes and take elements from fashion and current trends overseas. Some of these sleepwear garments could be mistaken for outerwear pieces,” Roslyn said.

A fabulous French word that sums up all that is right with life, Deshabillé alternately means “informal dress”, “casual or lounge attire”, or even the more naughty – “to undress”.
“For me it evoked images of gorgeous garments to frolic around the house in after work and for relaxing at the weekend,” Roslyn said.
